On the personnel front.. Today we were vsited by the lovely Kate (seen below chatting to a young Redstart)
Kate has been instrumental along with Tormud in facilitating so much for us and we welcomed the opportunity to welcome her to the ringing site and saying thank-you personally.
In fact we were lucky to have all three of our hosts on site at the same time Anders Kate and Tormud (from left to right). It was lucky that you cannot see Anders legs as he had just gone for a very muddy and smelly paddle to extract some birds and was standing barefoot.
The bird highlight of the day was undoubtedly the juvenile Temminks Stint caught, our first for the week. The only problem was that its mother hadn't told it about good posture and so it slouched sulkily for the photo. There is plenty of activity around the site and today we caught our first adult Ringed Plover of the week although I think we ought to have a caption competition for what the adult is saying to the juvenile ....
